DIY Post it note holder

So anyone that knows me, knows that I can't stand giving my kid's teachers mugs as gifts. Can you imagine how many mugs a teacher has acquired over her career?!? This year I decided to go with cute & functional. After blog hopping for quite sometime, I found this nifty idea. I'd like to tell you where I found the idea to give them props but I can't remember (sorry!). This project is so simple and very cheap for those mamas or daddies on a budget!

What you need:

plastic picture frames (I found mine at Walmart for .95)
scrapbooking paper or cardstock
embellishments (ribbon, flowers, rhinestones..etc.)
post it notes
glue gun
glue sticks

1. Make sure to take the protective plastic off of the picture frame. (I was unaware that mine still had the protective plastic until I tried to glue the ribbon on LOL)

2. Cut your choice of paper to size. I used the photo insert as a guide.

3. Insert your new "photo".

4. Add embellishments. This is where you can get as creative as you'd like. I used a combination of felt flowers, artificial flowers, ribbon and a ribbon slider on ours.

5. Stick on your post it notes

Viola! Very cute & functional teacher gift!
